HAPPY NEW YEAR, KIKI!!!

There is no one on the planet who heard me bitch, gripe and whine as much as you did last year. However, you should know that I did as Bing Crosby suggested and counted my blessings (instead of sheep) and here they are… the things I’m thankful for in 2010.

Spending time with teachers…

Being able to visit beautiful places…

Exotic places…

The opportunities we had to pull for each other…

Being able to hope and help…

BIG surprises…

Sweet victories…

Quality time…

The reunions that are too few and far between…

Being a little braver with each passing year…

For the people who are new to our lives…

And those who have been there as long as we can remember…

So cheers to us and cheers to YOU!
To more great challenges and adventures across time and space.

For most of this year I’ve been feeling like I…we (you and me) are right on the cusp of something, like at the tipping point of change – good change, I hope.  And if you look around you change seems to be the recurring theme nowadays.  You and I know that social change and any kind of change in the macro level is only possible through personal change.  As we’ve learned, everything we do creates a halo of effects and we never really know the extent of its impact.

Thanks to your prodding, I made the trip up to Barnes & Noble on the Upper West Side and attended the book signing and talk of author Yehuda Berg.  He gave a short talk and signed some books.

He talked about the basic message of the book by explaining how we are all connected and that our actions affect each other.  He used the example of the business of child slavery, which apparently is a billion dollar industry – think $12 billion!  While most of us are very far removed from such a tragedy, our daily actions may be promoting this industry.  How?  By patronizing and purchasing products manufactured in sweat shops or factories that employ children.  This fact is not new to us and yet sadly, this fact still remains a fact, a reality.  Hopefully, this book will inspire people to be aware of our connectedness (in so many levels) and work on a personal change.  Here are some photos I took of the event.

So as we end this insane year that was 2009, let’s remember that famous Sam Cooke song (Sam who??).

Look familiar?

Oh there been times that I thought I couldn’t last for long,

But now I think I’m able to carry on

It’s been a long, long time coming

But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will.

So many people in the past few months have been asking me about Kabbalah. And it’s been a while since Kabbalah Philippines held an “Introduction To Kabbalah” lecture — but the wait is over.

On July 22, 2009 (Wednesday) at 7pm in the U-View Theater, Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig, the secrets to lasting fulfillment and happiness will be revealed.

That may sound hokey but as you know, Kiki, the secrets to lasting happiness are insanely simple. There are so many people out there trying to make sense of their lives. I truly hope that they find their way to Kabbalah and this lecture we’re preparing for. There is so much Light to be revealed in the Philippines.

Admission is free!
Pre-registering is recommended.
