NYC InSIGHTS

Posted on: September 21, 2009

As the summer is winding down (boo!), I thought I’d share with you some shots taken during my bike rides.  These are various photos accumulated through the summer. Here are some shots taken from the Upper West Side while riding through the West Side Highway.

This is a shot of George Washington Bridge before crossing it to go back to New Jersey.  Yes Lala, I crossed it!

And here is a pretty picture of the city while on GWB.  It was a beautiful day as you can see.

The fountain below is also in Washington Square Park.   When Dinky Boy was a student of NYU, he used to sit around here during breaks and eat the Adobo that Florence Nighting-norms used to prepare for him.

wait – you BIKED to the city??
why can’t i get my head wrapped around that…
aren’t you scared of getting run over?
or inhaling all that pollution??
how long does it take you to get from your house to the city?
so many questions from this country bumkin…

Haha! Yes I biked to the city. I took the PATH from the Hoboken then rode all the way up to GW Bridge then rode back down to Hoboken.

The city is filled with messengers who bike (Ill talk about them in my next post) so cars are relatively respectful and aware of bikers on the rode. In fact, it’s these messengers that are actually aggressive. Its surprisingly not that polluted.

i’ve jogged (naks) in the city, down by the east river and yes, surprisingly not polluted… i think it’s because the island’s so narrow and flanked between to rivers… i’d jog there over here any day.

two rivers, i meant. hwe hwe

“by” two rivers, i meant… ok i’ll stop editing myself…
